Guide
Good photos for your website
Your own photos feel much more personal than stock photos. With your phone and a few tips, they turn out well.
Light
- Shoot in daylight, e.g. by a window – no flash.
- Avoid backlight (keep the sun behind the photographer).
Format
- For large images at the top of the page, hold your phone sideways.
- Tidy up the room and hold the camera level – better to take one more shot.
People
- Only show people with their consent – for employees, ideally in writing.
Rights
- Only use your own photos or ones you hold the rights to. Images from the internet usually cannot simply be used.
Upload
- Send the photo along in the AI Editor and say where it should go, e.g. “Replace the cover image with this photo”. EasyWeb AI shrinks it automatically so the page loads quickly.
Good to know
- If your website still has stock photos (note “Photos: Pexels” at the bottom), gradually replace them with your own.
