Guide
Connect your own domain
Your EasyWeb AI website at your own address, e.g. yourcompany.ch – with a secure connection (HTTPS). Your emails remain unchanged.
Enter your domain in EasyWeb AI
- In the customer area, under “Administration → Domain & email”, enter your address, e.g. yourcompany.ch (without https:// and without www).
- EasyWeb AI shows you exactly two records – with a button to copy them.
Set the records at your domain provider
- At the provider where you bought the domain, open the domain management – the section is usually called “DNS”, “DNS zone” or “DNS records”.
- Set an A record for “@” (or blank) to the address shown by EasyWeb AI. If an A record for “@” already exists, change it instead of creating a second one.
- Set a CNAME record for “www” to your domain.
- If there is an AAAA record (IPv6) for “@” or “www”, delete it.
Don’t touch email records
- Records of type MX, SPF or DKIM belong to your emails – leave them unchanged.
Wait – EasyWeb AI takes care of the rest
- EasyWeb AI checks the records automatically every 10 minutes. The domain is usually active after a few minutes; rarely, it takes up to 24 hours.
- Once everything is correct, EasyWeb AI obtains the security certificate (HTTPS) and renews it by itself in future.
Good to know
- Is your website with your own host instead of EasyWeb AI? Then the domain stays there – you activate the certificate in your host’s administration (often free “Let’s Encrypt”).
